  • Response: Where local ingredients are not available or in short supply, imported ingredients will be used.

  • Risk 2: Expat support to operations not guaranteed long-term.
  • Response: Local capacity is being built and local ownership fostered.

  • Risk 3: Maintenance of equipment
  • Response: The local focal points of the Italian manufacturer of gelato machines will provide technical assistance/support maintenance and servicing.   • Risk 4: Generation of sufficient revenue to sustain salaries, ingredients, rent, operations due to the ‘pay what you can’ model.
  • Response: There is a business plan in place to ensure sustainability. In addition, continuous active fund raising will be undertaken through in-person and online fundraising platforms.

  • Risk 5: Inability to produce enough to meet demand on the basis that demand increases when costs are low.
  • Response: Another distribution point will be created as funds are raised to purchase additional equipment.
